We have wide-ranging experience of dealing with property damage claims for insurers.
Flooding, fire, storm… there are all sorts of ways in which property can be damaged, and all sorts of legal complications that can arise during a property damage claim.
Litigation partner David Taylor is well versed in such cases. He is currently acting for a number of insurers in respect of the wide scale flooding in Edinburgh in April 2000. He has also been instructed in connection with flooding in Elgin/Moray and flooding in Hawick.
David’s writings on the subject have been published in Greens Reparation Bulletin and he has given a number of talks to insurers and adjusters on flooding, including a Master Class to the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters. David has also spoken in conjunction with the eminent Hydrologist Dr John Riddell during our seminar programme for the insurance industry.

The Ministry of Justice has confirmed that the Government will not overturn a Law Lords' ruling that pleural plaques are not compensatable damage. It will, however, push through a range of measures to support people who have been exposed to asbestos, including those with pleural plaques.
